Having 2500 hectares of cattle raising,
Rural Tourism in La Rosita
has a particular attraction. Working with cows is an
almost daily activity, during which you will have the
chance to know Corrientes gauchos skills and also participate
in those activities such as: animal herding, milking,
marking, bathing and healing, animal feeding, etc.
If you are willing to, you will really get immerged
in Argentina, its traditions and its people.
The area where you will be staying has large green extensions
with only a few rural towns nearby, allowing you to
watch a great variety of wildlife and heterogeneous
flora living together with the estancia’s production.
It is important to highlight the daily possibility of
going horseback riding for 10 / 20 Km. (included).
One day in "La
Rosita":
Our day begins having breakfast in the countryside calmness
enjoying handmade jams and cheeses, hearing birds sing.
Meanwhile, surely there will be some guests who would
like to learn how to milk a cow. Horses will be ready
waiting to start a different day.
Once we are really awake, we go horseback riding along
the Estancia’s surroundings, accompanied by Oscar
(The Overseer) and backup staff, to integrate with “Argentine
countryside”. On horses or cart, we will go along
great lagoons, forests and plains. At the back, always,
the horizon. Surely between canters we will see ostriches,
capybaras and many birds. Back in the estancia, we have
something fresh to drink, we rest a while in the swimming
pool and then we have some appetizers before lunch,
enjoying a relaxing moment. In the afternoon, after
lunch and a short nap, when learn gauchos are bathing
the herd so we go to the corral to participate in this
activity, (it is not hand bathing but the herd is submerged
in a “swimming pool”) they will explain
us how and why the herd is bathing.
Afterwards, some choose malleting a little (Polo), the
ABC of a sport highly related to Argentine Estancias.
Later, tea time, a drink and then dinner accompanied
by an authentic regional folklore music group (depending
on dates). The day ends with the last night rides and
then a deserving rest. Tomorrow we will go horseback
riding to a rural town; we will have lunch in the beach
watching the river. In the afternoon, we will go to
a pulperia and herd cows. But, for tonight, for those
who still have some energy left, the moon is waiting
for us to go trekking and have dinner in the moonlight.
